The Nursing & Midwifery Health Program Victoria (nmhp.org.au) continues to offer free, confidential and independent:
- One-on-one support to Victorian nurses, midwives and students experiencing challenges with their psychological health and to nurse and midwife leaders and health service leaders needing assistance or guidance in managing the challenges experienced by their workforce. This is provided by experienced nurse and midwife counsellors.
- Tailored on-line group support to all Victorian health services. These groups are typically delivered to nurses and midwives through their ward or department AND/OR to cohorts such as NUM/MUM groups, graduate groups etc. within their respective health service. The group program is designed to work with, and suit, the specific needs of the health service and their workforce and has been found to be a very successful tool in providing the workforce a safe space to visit, to decompress, receive support and be informed of the variety of free tools and supports which are available to them through NMHPV, to assist in promoting their health and wellbeing.
In addition, all Victorian nurses, midwives and students and nurse and midwife leaders and health service leaders can access:
- Support for Nurses & Midwives | Your health matters (nmsupport.org.au) Nurse & Midwife Support which offers free 24/7 access to experienced nurse and midwife counsellors who can provide telephone support for any matter impacting their psychological health.
